British luxury designer villa & chalet specialist Julie Gauthier has rented private homes for over twenty years

The daughter of an architect and an artist, Julie enjoyed a childhood filled with foreign travel and modern 60s art and architecture. Understandably this upbringing influenced her career - and when she began renting luxury villas in the Indian Ocean with her husband in 1993, it seemed only natural to bring together the best of design and property rentals in the form of Art de Vivre.

Over twenty years of experience in luxury property rentals

Julie has travelled extensively, creating a select portfolio of properties whilst developing contacts with exclusive owners across the world. Over ten years ago, Julie established Villas de Maitre Ltd, an exclusive portfolio of the finest villas in the Indian Ocean for rental and has witnessed the delight of her clients on discovering the rare gems she has handpicked across Mauritius and Seychelles.

With the success of Villas de Maitre, Julie felt passionate about finding other new gem villas for her clients around the world and wished to rekindle her love for chalets and the Alps from her experience as a Ski rep many years ago. Art de Vivre was then established in 2013 and has grown since to feature over forty of the finest properties for rental around the world for her international clientele.

Julie works closely with her loyal clients and owners to create a bespoke rental service that is genuine and authentic whilst maintaining the strong relationships she forms with each new client. She often meets her clients and owners in person in London, Paris and Geneva or over the phone to make a real connection and discuss their thoughts.
